Spiritual Life

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
GLORIFY GOD IN ALL WE DO
At WCS our goal is to glorify God in everything that we do as we work to accomplish our mission. This means that we emphasize the spiritual development of our students and put God at the center of everything that we do.
Developing a biblical worldview is not limited to Bible class or weekly chapel—it is woven into every aspect of the educational experience. God's truth is intentionally integrated throughout every subject, every classroom, and every conversation, helping students understand that faith is not separate from learning but is the foundation for it. By connecting biblical principles to academics and daily life, we equip students to think critically, live faithfully, and confidently follow Christ in every area of their lives.

BIBLE BUDDIES
Our BIBLE BUDDIES program fosters community across grade levels, promotes mentorship, and encourages spiritual growth. By pairing students across different grades, it creates a supportive environment that builds relationships and makes faith-based learning more engaging.
Once a month activities have included: Sidewalk chalk drawing of scripture verses around campus, learning a song and dance to a worship song, and watching a Bible story and answering questions with their Buddy.

MENTORING
We believe High School Students need a weekly class period to connect with each other not tied to academics or any expectations other than respectfully supporting one another to grow their faith and relationships.
Mentoring provides students with weekly opportunities to gather in small groups with faculty mentors for discipleship, discussion, prayer, and encouragement. Building on the teaching from Bible classes and chapel, these relationships reflect the biblical pattern of older believers investing in the lives of the next generation, helping students to apply God's Word to their lives.

CHAPEL
Our school has been blessed recently with the construction of a purpose-built chapel for our student to meet weekly for worship and hearing God's word corporately. Once a month, all students from elementary and secondary meet together for a worship session to all lift all our praise to God the Father.
For Elementary:
Twice a week, PreK - 5th grade students attend chapel services which include reciting of all of the pledges to honor our country and state as well as saying all fo the Books of the Bible. Each elementary class has the opportunity to lead chapel for the school encouraging leadership skills. Also, the ARISE Team, consisting of appointed elementary leaders help with teaching hand motions to worship songs.
Parents and guests are always welcome to attend.
For Secondary:
Weekly chapel brings our secondary students together for worship, prayer, and biblical teaching centered on Christ. Led by our student worship team, Bible teachers, and local pastors, chapel encourages students to worship the Lord, hear His Word proclaimed, and grow together as a community of believers.

66 BOOKS CLUB
The tradition of the 66 Books of the Bible Club started by one of our beloved PreK teachers, Mrs. Rachel Lawrence, in 2001 when our school was founded. Over the years hundreds of students have earned their hand-painted t-shirt award for reciting all of the 66 Books of the Bible.
But the true reward is knowing the Author of the Bible.
Then when WCS students become seniors who recited the books while they were in lower grades received their final and forever 66 Books Club t-shirt as they participate in the last elementary chapel for their WCS tenure.
We are so thankful for Mrs. Rachel for keeping God's Word live and active (and a fun too) even for the older kids. This chapter will be remembered for a lifetime.

SECONDARY BIBLE CLASSES
One of the defining distinctives of Weatherford Christian School is our commitment to the authority and sufficiency of God's Word. We believe the Bible is sufficient to reveal who God is, who we are in relation to Him, and how that truth informs the way we think, learn, worship, and live. Our desire is that students would not simply know the Bible, but come to personally know, love, and follow the Lord Jesus Christ, to whom all of Scripture bears witness.
Our Bible curriculum is designed to help students develop both a deep understanding of Scripture and a distinctly Christian worldview.
High school students build upon the biblical foundation established in middle school:
- 9th Grade - Study of the Old Testament
- 10th Grade - Study of the New Testament and Christian doctrine
- 11th Grade - Competing worldviews
- 12th Grade - Christian Apologetics
Throughout each course, students are challenged to think biblically, grow spiritually, and apply God's truth to every area of life.
"Our Bible teachers are committed not only to faithful instruction but also to linking arms with parents as we walk alongside our students, pointing them to Christ in every season of life." - Mr. Dennis Fowler, Head of the Bible Department dennis.fowler@wcslions.org
